Sente Updates Constituents at Town Hall Meeting Focused on Education

“It was reassuring to see so many residents interested in what is happening in Springfield as it relates to their children’s education here at home,” Sente said. “The recently-passed legislation not only helps local schools continue to provide our students with a world-class education, but has created an opportunity for our community to discuss how the state can serve as a stronger partner in our children’s academic success.”

Sente recently voted for Senate Bill 1, which through a new school funding formula would increase state funding to local schools by over $700,000. Unlike previous education proposals, the legislation ensures that no school in Illinois would lose money as a result of the new school funding formula. The legislation has passed both the House and Senate.
